Duties and Authorities

The duties and authorities of the Transport Safety Investigation Center are as follows:
a) To investigate and examine accidents or incidents occurring in modes of transport that have a significant impact in terms of transport safety regulations and safety management, to prepare reports aimed at improving transport safety, and to submit the examined and finalized report to the Minister and the Presidential Security and Foreign Policy Council.
b) To send reports on investigated accidents or incidents to the parties concerned and relevant national and international institutions and organizations when necessary.
c) To coordinate with the local administrative authority responsible for preserving evidence until the necessary investigations in the accident or incident area are completed.
ç) To determine the procedures and principles regarding evidence classified as confidential.
d) To follow international developments, become a member of relevant international organizations, pay membership fees, and ensure the implementation of rules and standards published by international organizations of which it is a member.
e) To perform other duties assigned by the Minister.
